WHITE CITY — Two men were shot in the legs during a drive-by shooting early Tuesday.
About 12:50 a.m., police say a gray vehicle, possibly an SUV, approached at a high rate of speed two 19-year-old men who were on a sidewalk near 10150 South and 800 East. Fifteen rounds were fired from an unknown number of gunmen at the two victims, said Unified police detective Kevin Mallory.
The vehicle drove off and police continued to look for the shooters on Tuesday. The two victims were transported to a local hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
Three vehicles that were parked near the men were also hit as well as the garage of the house they were walking in front of, according to police.
A motive for the shooting was not immediately known. Mallory said the Metro Gang Unit was called to assist in the investigation, though there was no immediate evidence that the shooting is gang-related.
