TOOELE — A Springville man who has already served time in the Utah State Prison for sex-related convictions was charged again on Monday.

Marcelino Castillo, 35, is charged in Tooele County’s 3rd District Court with enticing a minor by internet, a second-degree felony; and failing to register as a sex offender, a third-degree felony.

Starting on June 7, police say Castillo communicated with an undercover officer posing as a 13-year-old girl. Castillo sent the “girl” many sexually explicit messages, according to charging documents.

Undercover officers posing as the girl arranged to meet Castillo on Thursday and arrested him shortly after he arrived and booked him into the Tooele County Jail.

In 2014, Castillo was convicted in 4th District Court of unlawful sexual conduct with a juvenile, dealing in harmful materials to a minor and voyeurism. He was sentenced to one to 15 years in prison.
