DRAPER — Two people were hospitalized Friday after a car stopped suddenly in traffic on I-15 in Draper.

The crash happened about 9:45 p.m., according to Sgt. Nick Street of the Utah Highway Patrol. A vehicle heading south stopped abruptly near 12200 South.

One vehicle traveling at full speed crashed into the back of the stopped vehicle and pushed it down the road, Street said. It was then hit by a second vehicle.

The female driver of the stopped vehicle was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition; her condition was later upgraded, Street said. A juvenile who was in the back seat of the car also sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The crash closed southbound I-15 for several hours Friday night.
