Everybody's talking about how today, on Cyber Monday, many people will go online and shop for stuff they either couldn't find at the store or want to buy online b/c of all the crazy deals and free shipping.
But I probably won't click to add anything to my cart. One reason, I have no time! No time at work (wait, what am I doing blogging?) No time when I get home at in a few hours (two little boys = lunch, nap, play, dinner, play, bath, bed etc). But perhaps a bigger reason is that I don't really like shopping online.
I like to try on shoes. I like to flip through a book's pages. I love to feel a fabric, smell a candle. You can't do that online. I don't like handing over my credit card number, even on secure websites.
I also have a confession: I shrug my shoulders at the latest technology. I sometimes turn off my email option on my work Blackberry -- I can't stand that new message indicator blinking and winking at me. My husband received an ipod from his boss last Christmas, but we don't use it much (we are News/Talk radio people, go figure). I often appeal to a higher power (Help Desk Steve Wise or my little brothers) when dealing with my laptop. I do text, but sometimes just pick up the phone and call.
So even though I see some fabulous shoes online right now, I think I'm going to swing by Target on the way home to check them out.
