(KSL News) The Ogden police officer who was hailed a hero after the Trolley Square shooting was placed on administrative leave.
The Ogden Police Department issued this statement:
"On Oct. 29, the Ogden Police Department received an allegation of misconduct directed at Officer Ken Hammond, involving an incident alleged to have occurred in 2005. The Ogden Police Department has a clear and long-standing policy on the handling of such allegations and, as a result of the allegation, has placed Officer Hammond on administrative leave for the duration of the investigation. The investigation is currently being handled by the Weber County Attorney's Office." Police would not elaborate on the allegation. Hammond was dining with his wife on Feb. 12, 2007 when 18-year-old Sulejmen Talovic shot nine people, killing five.
Hammond went after Talovic and likely saved lives.
Talovic died in the shootout.
