SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah cornerback Shaun Harper is out indefinitely with a broken arm.

Harper broke his arm Saturday after making an interception in the fourth quarter of Utah's 45-7 win over Northern Arizona on Saturday. Harper started the first two games and had five tackles and the Utes' only interception.

"It's unfortunate. We were thin at that position anyway," coach Kyle Whittingham said Monday.

Whittingham said defensive back Eric Weddle will have to move back from strong safety to cornerback to take Harper's place.

Whittingham said he would have Utah's complete injury report for Saturday's game at Utah State later this week.

"We're more banged up at this point than at this same time last year, but injuries are a part of the game," Whittingham said.
