Alta 6, Bingham 7
This game is dead even through one half statistically. Two mistakes by Alta account for their 4 point deficit. The first being the missed extra point. The second is the decision to pass deep in their own territory with just seconds left in the half. An interception led to a Bingham field goal. Alta has been down at the half this season and come back to win. They are a very confident group and have some clutch wins under their belt. The Hawks can put up points in a hurry. They trailed by 6 after three quarters against Bingham in week 2 only to score 14 unanswered in the 4th quarter for the win. They had to come from behind late to beat Jordan in the final week of the regular season and in the Quarterfinals they trailed 20-7 to Davis only to come back and win by one.

Just as I sent my last post Ammon Olsen was hit from behind and his pass fluttered about 5 feet into the diving arms of Bingham's Colton Yack. The Miners have the ball at the 22 yard line. Why in the world are you throwing the ball in that situation? Deep in your own territory with just seconds left in the half. This could come back to haunt Alta if the Miners put points on the board.

Bingham vs. Alta, Part 3. This is a rematch of last year's 5A semifinal game and the 2006 championship. Alta won last year's edition, while the Miners won in 2006. This game will feature 2 of the best teams in the state. These two teams do not like each other, and I would go as far to say it is the biggest current rivalry in the playoffs.
