Daily Ireland, the newest newspaper on the island of Ireland, printed its last edition on Friday, folding after just 20 months on the news stands.
The paper, based in Belfast, struggled to attain circulation figures higher than 10,000 per day.
"We are very proud of the achievements of the Daily Ireland team over the past 20 months," said managing director Mairtin O Muilleoir.
"We hope we have inspired others to take up where we have left off and that this is more a time out than an ending."
The newspaper, which was sold in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland alike, had a nationalist editorial line and was seen as close to Sinn Fein, the political wing of the Irish Republican Army.
With a team of 15 journalists, Daily Ireland was by far Northern Ireland's smallest newspaper. The Belfast Telegraph has a 91,000-strong circulation and the Irish News nearly 50,000.
