(KSL News) -- A man accused of child abuse refused to show up to his hearing, for the fourth time.

Michale Bowden faces charges related to starving his girlfriend's daughter while her mother served in Iraq. The court now has two options -- get a court order to force Bowden to appear or proceed without him.

Bowden refused to leave his cell for the first hearing last week. A power outage and a custody hearing kept him out of court two other times.

A judge has already appointed Bowden a lawyer.
