NEPHI — A wildfire burning southeast of Nephi on Friday evening threatened structures, state and federal fire officials reported through Utah Fire Info.
The fire, dubbed the Old Pinery Fire, was estimated to be about 30 acres and growing just before 9 p.m., fire officials said.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
Another new wildfire reported on Friday burned miles away on Tooele County’s Stansbury Island.
That fire, which had yet to be named, was estimated to be about 100 acres, fire officials reported.
That fire comes after two other human-caused wildfires on the island had been contained earlier this week.
The cause of Friday’s fire on the island wasn’t immediately known.
