RIVERTON — Two people were taken to a hospital after a crash after a driver may have run a red light Monday afternoon, police said.

Emergency crews responded to a report to a crash at the intersection of 13200 South and Mountain View Corridor shortly before 3:10 p.m., according to Riverton Police Sgt. John Arnoldson.

He said a passenger car and an SUV collided at the intersection in a T-bone style crash. There were six people inside the two cars combined; one person from each vehicle was taken to a hospital. Arnoldson said he didn't know what their conditions were but said both were conscious and breathing when they were transported. Others suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Police were investigating what caused the crash Monday, but Arnoldson said preliminary evidence indicated the driver of one of the vehicles ran a red light.

Northbound lanes of Mountain View Corridor were temporarily closed at 13400 South to allow crews to clean up the scene.
