WEST JORDAN — A 14-year-old girl and her mother are recovering Saturday after a Friday wreck in West Jordan left them with serious injuries.

The two were involved in a three-vehicle accident about 5:20 p.m. at 5600 West and 7800 South.

According to West Jordan Police Sgt. Dan Roberts, the mother was driving her daughter in an SUV when she attempted a left turn and collided with a pickup truck that was pulling a trailer.

The driver of the pickup went to the hospital with minor injuries, Roberts said.

A third involved vehicle was waiting to make a right turn when it was struck by the other two; no one in that vehicle required treatment, Roberts said.

Roberts said the 14-year-old girl is being treated at Primary Children's Hospital and her mother is at Jordan Valley Medical Center.

West Jordan Police Sgt. Walter Bockholt said Friday that the girl's injuries were possibly life-threatening; Roberts said Saturday that her condition was stable.

The incident is under investigation.
