BOSTON (AP) — Derryck Thornton had 22 points, five rebounds and five assists, Jay Heath scored 16 points, and Boston College held off a second-half surge from North Carolina State in a 71-68 win. Nik Popovic added 14 points and eight rebounds and Jairus Hamilton scored 11 for Boston College, which has won four of its last seven. The Eagles have not won back-to-back games since a season-high four-game win streak Dec. 7 to 21.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Francesca Pan scored 13 of her 30 points in the first six minutes of the third quarter and Georgia Tech built a double-digit lead and withstood a late rally to stun No. 4 N.C. State in a 65-61 win. N.C. State, which started 22-1, lost at home for the second time in four days following a defeat by No. 9 Louisville on Thursday.

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Haley Gorecki scored 21 points, including two free throws with 3.5 seconds left, and Duke upset No. 14 Florida State 66-64, ending a string of 13 straight losses against Top 25 teams. Nicki Ekhomu's long 3-point attempt from the top left went off the front of the rim as time expired. The Blue Devils were up 58-49 midway through the fourth quarter when the Seminoles reeled off 11 quick points, taking a 60-58 lead on Ekhomu's 3 with 2:37 to play. Ekhomu scored 19 points for FSU.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Dana Evans scored 18 points to lead No. 9 Louisville to an 82-49 victory over Notre Dame on Sunday. The Cardinals (23-3, 12-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) made 7-of-9 shots during one stretch of the second quarter to build a 36-21 lead midway through the period. Louisville played unselfish, dishing out 13 assists on 17 baskets in the half. Mik Vaughn led the Irish (10-16, 5-9) with 16 points.

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Johh Newman III had a career-high 23 points and Clemson used a strong defensive first half to send No. 5 Louisville to its second straight defeat, 77-62. The Tigers held the Cardinals to their lowest first-half output this season as they led 31-14 at the break and limited the ACC's leading scorer in Jordan Nwora to just five points. Clemson opened up a 21-point lead in the second half. After the lead down to 44-34 on Dwayne Sutton's jumper with 9:49 left, Clemson went on an 11-2 run. Sutton led Louisville with 18 points.

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Vernon Carey Jr. scored 21 points, Tre Jones added 19 and No. 7 Duke used a high-intensity man-to-man defense to beat Notre Dame 94-60 for its seventh straight win. With No. 5 Louisville losing to Clemson, the win vaulted the Blue Devils into sole possession of first place in the ACC standings, one-half game ahead of the Cardinals. Notre Dame had won four in a row before losing a heartbreaker in overtime Tuesday at Virginia.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Patrick Williams scored 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds as No. 8 Florida State played without star guard Devin Vassell and held off Syracuse 80-77. M.J. Walker scored 16 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Seminoles won their 20th straight home game. Elijah Hughes added 25 points and four rebounds playing all 40 minutes as he returned from a groin injury that limited him to just three minutes in Tuesday’s home loss to N.C. State. Joe Girard scored 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds for Syracuse.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Tomas Woldetensae scored 18 points and made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds left to lift Virginia past North Carolina 64-62. Mamadi Diakite added 15 points for the Cavaliers, who won for the fifth time in six games. Woldetensae’s winning shot came after North Carolina’s Christian Keeling made three free throws to give the Tar Heels a 62-61 lead with 10.3 seconds left. Keeling had been fouled by Woldetensae while attempting a 3-point shot. Garrison Brooks scored 20 points to lead North Carolina, which lost its fifth consecutive game.
