MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Payton Willis scored a career-high 21 points on 5-for-7 shooting from 3-point range to lead Minnesota past Wisconsin 70-52. Daniel Oturu had 17 points and 14 rebounds, Marcus Carr scored 12 points, and Gabe Kalscheur added 11 points for the Gophers. They led the entire game and posted their largest margin of victory over the Badgers in 26 years. Both teams are 6-6 in Big Ten play. Nate Reuvers scored 14 points and Micah Potter had 11 points and 15 rebounds off the bench for the Badgers, who had their worst shooting performance of the season at 28.4 percent.

UNDATED (AP) — Ohio State is back on top in Big Ten recruiting. Ryan Day wrapped up his first full signing class with a letter of intent from the two-time Michigan high school player of the year Cameron Martinez of Muskegon. Michigan, Penn State and Nebraska followed the Buckeyes in the Big Ten composite rankings compiled by 247Sports. Ohio State's class is ranked fifth nationally. Last year was the first since 2010 that Ohio State's class was not judged best in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes were transitioning from Urban Meyer to Day and slipped to third behind Michigan and Penn State.

UNDATED (AP) — The rich getting richer on signing day in college football in a long-standing tradition. This year's class was especially top-heavy. Six schools signed 22 of the 31 players rated as five-stars by 247 Sports. Clemson, Georgia, Alabama, LSU and Ohio State signed 47 of the top 100 recruits. Georgia landed the top-ranked class with Alabama and Clemson close behind. This the third year the recruiting calendar opened in December. The February signing period is now fairly quiet as most teams simply put the finishing touches on their classes.
