UNDATED (AP) — Baylor has strengthened its hold on No. 1 in The Associated Press men's college basketball poll. The Bears received 49 of 65 first-place votes in the latest poll to stay comfortably ahead of Gonzaga and Kansas. That's up from 44 first-place votes from the previous week. The Bears are atop the rankings for a third straight week. The Zags got 15 first-place votes after having 19 a week earlier. No. 9 Maryland and No. 11 Auburn made the week's biggest jumps. COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — By the time Anthony Cowan Jr. is done playing basketball at Maryland, the slick-shooting senior guard will rank high among the school career leaders in several notable categories, including scoring and assists. What he'd really like to be remembered for, however, is helping the ninth-ranked Terrapins make a run deep into the NCAA Tournament. After the Terrapins were ousted in the second round last year, Cowan explored entering the NBA draft. He ultimately decided to put off becoming pro in favor of playing the leadership role on a Maryland team that hopes to be part of the Final Four.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Ashley Owusu had 22 points, six rebounds and eight assists, Taylor Mikesell added 21 points and No. 13 Maryland beat Michigan State 94-53 for their seventh straight victory. Kaila Charles had 17 points, Shakira Austin, returning from injury, added 13 for Maryland, which moved into a first-place tie with Iowa and Northwestern atop the standings. Maryland shot 61% from the field, including 9 of 13 from 3-point range. Nia Clouden led Michigan State with 17 points.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Ali Patberg had 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, and No. 18 Indiana beat Purdue 66-54 for the Barn Burner Trophy. Indiana keeps the annual trophy for the fourth straight season after winning eight of the last 11 meetings. Jaelynn Penn and Grace Berger each added 15 points for Indiana. Dominique Oden scored 24 points to lead Purdue, which had a three-game winning streak snapped. Ae'Rianna Harris, the reigning Big Ten player of the week, had 16 points and seven rebounds.
