HONEYVILLE, Box Elder County — Officials have identified the woman who died Saturday after struggling in the water at Crystal Hot Springs.
Christina Bailey, 51, of Logan, was pronounced dead at Bear River Valley Hospital, according to a news release from Box Elder County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Dale Ward.
The incident was reported at around 3 p.m. Saturday. While swimming in the park's large pool some teenagers noticed the woman was struggling, Ward said in the release. The teens called for help to get her out of the pool.
"She had been removed from the water and visitors at Crystal Springs with medical background were doing CPR," the news release reads. "Box Elder Sheriff's Deputies, Tremonton Fire and EMS, Honeyville First Responders were all dispatched."
Ward said it's unclear at this time whether drowning or another medical issue was the cause of death. Bailey was transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
She was visiting the springs from Cache Valley with a friend, according to the news release.
