PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A man charged in the stabbing death of his father on Father's Day has been found incompetent to stand trial.
Fourth District Court Judge Gary Stott on Thursday ordered Michael Kirsch into the custody of the Department of Human Services, which will have 90 days to determine whether he can be made competent.
Kirsch, who turns 32 on Saturday, is charged with aggravated murder and aggravated assault. He is accused of using a 10-inch carving knife to repeatedly stab 62-year-old Christopher Kirsch in June.
Michael Kirsch was found incompetent to stand trial in a 2004 case and spent six months in the Utah State Hospital before he was made competent through medication.
