CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is happy his players get to finally make a case for themselves that they are championship-worthy at the ACC title game. The third-ranked Tigers will take on No. 22 Virginia for the league title on Saturday night. There will be little doubt after the result on whether defending national champion Clemson will be in the four-team College Football Playoff. Swinney has consistently defended his program's schedule and his team's play throughout its undefeated season. Clemson is seeking to become the first program with five straight ACC title game wins. They're also looking for their 28th straight victory.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Jordan Nwora scored 19 points, Malik Williams had 13 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, and No. 1 Louisville used a 17-4 second-half run to pull away from Pittsburgh for a 64-46 victory. After shooting 37% in their previous game against No. 4 Michigan, the Cardinals came out firing from long range. Every player had at least one 3-pointer as they went 9 of 17 from behind the arc and 13 for 26 overall in the first half. Nwora left the game briefly in the second half after injuring his left shoulder but returned to add a steal and breakaway dunk during the Cardinals' big run.

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Tre Jones scored 15 points and No. 10 Duke rallied after a slow start to beat Virginia Tech 77-63. Vernon Carey Jr. and Wendell Moore Jr. added 12 points each for the Blue Devils. They used runs of 12-2 just after halftime and 12-3 a short time later to take command after trailing for almost the entire first half. P.J. Horne scored 15 points to lead the Hokies. Virginia Tech lost its third in a row and ended its three-game home winning streak against the Blue Devils. Wabisa Bede and Tyrece Radford added 12 points each.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — North Carolina outlasted underdog Washington State 2-1 on Friday for a berth in the women's NCAA College Cup title game. North Carolina will vie for its 23rd championship on Sunday against Stanford, which defeated UCLA 4-1 in the other semifinal. The Cougars made it to the Final Four for the first time in any sport. Alexis Strickland's header in the 38th minute gave the Tar Heels the winning margin.

UNDATED (AP) — The Heisman Trophy chase and the playoff race have become intertwined. Since the College Football Playoff started in 2014, four of the five Heisman winners and 14 of the 17 finalists have played on teams selected to play in the semifinals. That makes conference championship weekend especially important as voters keep an eye on contenders. It has also made it especially difficult for players out of the national title hunt, like injured Alabama star Tua Tagovailoa, to work their way on to voters' ballots.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina coach Roy Williams says freshman big man Armando Bacot is likely out for the seventh-ranked Tar Heels' game at No. 5 Virginia due to an ankle injury. Bacot sprained his left ankle early in a lopsided home loss to No. 6 Ohio State on Wednesday night. Williams said Friday that the 6-foot-10 Bacot is walking without crutches, but he has experienced swelling. Williams says he doesn't see “any way in the world that he can play” against the Cavaliers on Sunday. Bacot was averaging 11.7 points and 9.6 rebounds before his early injury against the Buckeyes.
