SALT LAKE CITY — Officials identified two people who died in separate crashes on I-15 during Thanksgiving week.

Riverdale, Weber County

Mahmoud Sarebannejad, 36, of Laguna Niguel, California, was killed Nov. 25 when a semitruck hit him while he was readjusting his semitruck's load on the side of the freeway in Riverdale, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Nick Street confirmed on Tuesday.

Sarebannejad was standing outside his truck when the other semitruck swerved in an attempt to avoid a crash, hitting Sarebannejad and the rear of his parked truck, Street said.

The 36-year-old died on impact.
