SALT LAKE CITY — Boise State came into Logan ranked No. 20 and had a 9-1 record to face a Utah State team that was just 6-4, but looked to have turned the corner on the season with two wins in a row.
A total of 83% of KSL Pick'em participants sided with the Aggies, only to see the Broncos jump out to a 42-7 halftime lead en route to a 56-21 win.
The other upset, according to which team received the majority of the picks, was Navy, which beat No. 25 SMU 35-28.
BYU and Utah cruised to comfortable wins, and not surprisingly, were the top two fan bases this week. BYU fans averaged 27 points per game, with Utah close behind at 26.3. Utah State fans still did fairly well, minus the points lost on their own team, scoring 25.0.
For the season, Utah is still first at 22.3, Utah State second at 22.0, and BYU third at 21.7.
This week's first, second and third place winners will get $100, $70 and $40 Visa gift cards, respectively, courtesy of Peak Orthopaedics, which provides comprehensive joint care for the entire body from expert orthopaedic and sports medicine physicians. The overall first, second and third place winners will receive $500, $250 and $115, respectively. See KSL Pick'em for the tiebreaker rules.
