UNDATED (AP) — Duke to face California and possibly No. 22 Texas at Madison Square Garden after climbing to No. 1. The Blue Devils moved atop the AP Top 25 after previous No. 1 Kentucky lost against Evansville at home.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Xavier Tillman scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help No. 3 Michigan State tune up with a 94-46 win over Charleston Southern. The Spartans were without starting forward Aaron Henry, who rolled both ankles in last week’s win over then-No. 12 Seton Hall, in the on-campus game that is part of the Maui Invitational. Michigan State’s Gabe Brown made his first career start in place of Henry and the sophomore scored a season-high 12 points.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Kyle Young had a career-high 15 points and Kaleb Wesson added 13 to lead No. 10 Ohio State to an 86-51 rout of visiting Stetson. The Buckeyes (4-0) had moved up six spots in the AP Top 25 after beating then-No. 10 Villanova last week. Against the Hatters they jumped out to a 28-3 lead, built a 42-14 halftime advantage and cruised in the second half.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — Kofi Cockburn scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and Illinois beat Hawaii 66-53. Cockburn, a 7-foot freshman from Jamaica, recorded his third double-double in four games this season.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — In the week leading up to his first college start, Michigan linebacker Cam McGrone said he was shaking before practices. It was just Rutgers visiting Michigan Stadium, but being in the middle of the Wolverines’ defense in the Big House was a daunting order for the redshirt freshman from Indianapolis. Michigan fans and coaches know what they have now and expectations are high heading into a crucial finish to his first season on the field.

UNDATED (AP) — Purdue faces a battle to keep its bowl hopes alive Saturday at No. 14 Wisconsin. The Boilermakers already have won elimination games against Nebraska and Northwestern. But they still must win their final two games against the Badgers and rival Indiana to reach the six-win threshold to become bowl-eligible.

UNDATED (AP) — The Indiana Hoosiers will get a second chance to beat a ranked opponent when No. 12 Michigan visits Saturday. The Hoosiers have lost 16 straight to ranked foes and 23 in a row to the surging Wolverines. But this season has been all about changing perceptions and results. And Saturday poses another opportunity for the Hoosiers for a chance to cash in.

UNDATED (AP) — Duke has moved to No. 1 in The Associated Press men’s college basketball poll following Kentucky’s surprising loss to Evansville. The Blue Devils moved up a spot after a pair of wins last week. The Wildcats dropped to No. 9. Louisville is second, followed by Michigan State, Kansas and North Carolina.
