HURRICANE — One man died Thursday and another was injured after their motorcycle collided with a truck on Old Highway 91, according to police.

The accident occurred about 4 p.m. at 250 N. Old Highway 91, Hurricane police officer Ken Thompson said.

A 24-year-old man was killed after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction, Thompson said.

He was ejected from the motorcycle and declared dead on scene, Thompson said.

A 17-year-old passenger on the motorcycle was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital, according to Thompson.

The teen was talking and moving at the scene before he was transported to the hospital, Thompson said.

Both occupants of the motorcycle wore helmets, but the ejection caused the driver’s helmet to come off, Thompson said.

No injuries were reported to the occupants of the truck.

The accident is under investigation and police don’t know what caused the motorcycle's driver to lose control.
