SALT LAKE CITY — This year’s Halloween DUI blitz by the Utah Highway Patrol had similar numbers to last year.
Troopers worked more than 230 extra shifts on Halloween to deter impaired driving.
From 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, troopers made 14 DUI arrests, said UHP Sgt. Nick Street. They also investigated six crashes, all with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
During last year’s blitz, troopers made 11 DUI arrests and investigated only one crash that did not involve any injuries, Street said.
