OGDEN — Weber State senior Jerrick Harding won’t sneak up on anyone this year.

The 6-foot-1 guard from Wichita, Kansas was named Big Sky Preseason MVP on Wednesday, becoming the first Wildcat tagged with the distinction since the conference began recognizing a preseason all-league team in 2015.

Harding finished second in the conference as a junior in averaging 21.4 points per game. His 642 points last year wereo the eighth-most in school history.

In 97 games with the Wildcats, Harding also ranks fifth in career scoring with 1,621 points, first in career free-throw percentage at 87.2, ninth in career 3-points made and 10th in steals.

In addition to Harding, Montana guard Sayeed Pridgett, Montana State guard Harald Frey, Portland State guard Holland Woods, Eastern Washington forward Mason Peatling and Eastern Washington forward Jacob Davison were named to the All-Big Sky Preseason first team.

The Wildcats open the 2019-20 season Nov. 8 at Utah State. Their first home game is Nov. 14 against San Diego.
