A pick-me-up, a buzz; whatever it is, there's something that draws billions of people a year to energy drinks. But how safe are they?
Eyewitness News reporter Courtney Orton tested the energy drink Spike Shooter. It has as much caffeine as three Red Bulls or five cups of coffee.
Within 15 minutes of taking the first sip, Orton felt jittery and her heart rate shot way up. She said the effects lasted for hours.
KSL Newsradio's Becky Bruce has been looking into the dangers of energy drinks. She joined us to discuss this issue in tonight's Talking Point.
