WELLINGTON, Carbon County — One man is dead after an officer-involved shooting Tuesday about 7 p.m., Carbon County Sheriff’s officials said.

The officer involved in the shooting wasn’t injured and further details about the incident, including an address where the shooting took place, weren’t immediately available.

The names of the man killed and the officer involved weren’t released.

The investigation into the incident is led by the sheriff’s office in partnership with Price City Police Department, Emery County Sheriff’s Office and Carbon County Attorney’s Office.

Per Wellington City policy, the officer involved was placed on paid administrative leave.

More information about the incident would be released as the investigation continues, Carbon County Sheriff’s officials said. A news conference about the shooting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.
