SALT LAKE CITY — A man died after a rollover crash on I-15 early Saturday morning, authorities say.

The man was driving an SUV north on the I-15 collector ramp near 1500 South about 1:45 a.m., according to a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol.

The SUV side-swiped a concrete barrier on the left side of the road, according to UHP. The driver overcorrected to the right and hit another concrete barrier on the right side of the road, causing the car to roll, UHP said.

The man was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the car when it rolled, according to UHP. He died at the scene. His identity was not provided.

Investigators believe drug and alcohol impairment may have been a factor in the crash, according to the news release. However, it is likely the man would have survived the crash if he had been properly restrained, authorities said.

No other information about the crash was available Saturday morning.
