CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina guard Leah Church is getting national attention for a viral video showing her making three straight 3-pointers while shooting over her head and with her back to the basket. The clip now has more than 1 million views and was featured on NBC's "Today" show. Church told The Associated Press she was just trying to make two in a row and asked her mother to film it in case she was successful.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Reigning national champion Clemson is chasing a fifth straight football championship in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tigers are the preseason favorites and made up nearly half of the preseason all-ACC picks. A look around the league finds Virginia picked to win the always unpredictable Coastal Division. There are also four new ACC coaches: Louisville's Scott Satterfield, Georgia Tech's Geoff Collins, Miami's Manny Diaz and North Carolina's Mack Brown in a second stint with the Tar Heels.

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson is the defending national champion and its goal is to hoist the title trophy in consecutive seasons. The Tigers have won two of the past three college football crowns, beating Alabama both times. Clemson last season became the first in the Football Bowl Subdivision to finish with a 15-0 record_ and the Tigers are projected to meet Alabama in a rematch for this year's title. Coach Dabo Swinney says his team has a long way to go before thinking about a matchup with the Crimson Tide.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Quarterback Bryce Perkins and Virginia are facing an unfamiliar challenge this season: Expectations. The Cavaliers were tabbed as favorites in the ACC's Coastal Division after being picked to finish last five years in a row. With nine starters back on defense, it could a tough year for opponents of Bronco Mendenhall's football team.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh is hoping better balance on offense will help the Panthers become the first team in nearly a decade to repeat as ACC Coastal Division champions. Pitt relied heavily on the rushing attack a year ago to emerge from a bumpy 1-3 start to win its first Coastal championship. The Panthers hired Mark Whipple as offensive coordinator in the offseason in hopes of making the offense more unpredictable. Pitt opens the season at home against Virginia on Aug. 30.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — New North Carolina coach Mack Brown knows one of his first tasks is getting the Tar Heels to play with confidence again. Brown is back for a second stint with the Tar Heels this season. He built a top-10 national program in his first decade-long stint in Chapel Hill before leaving for Texas in 1997. Now he inherits a program that has won two Atlantic Coast Conference games over the past two seasons.

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Virginia Tech is looking to bounce back after its first losing football season since 1992. The Hokies finished 6-7 last season and coach Justin Fuente is having everyone fight for their starting jobs. That includes quarterback Ryan Willis, whose 24 touchdown passes have guaranteed him nothing except an opportunity to compete to maintain his starting spot.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Manny Diaz has seen all sides of Miami. He grew up there as a child of divorce, spending some time with his mother in the northern part of town, some time with his father in the heavily Latin-flavored southern part of town. He experienced much of what a multicultural city had to offer, both good and bad, remembers the race riots that fractured the area, how the national perception of the city was far from positive. And he saw how a winning Miami football team solved a lot of issues.
