WACO, Texas (AP) — A Texas appeals court for a second time has overturned the sexual assault conviction of a former Baylor football player whose case ignited a scandal that rocked the nation's largest Baptist school. The Dallas-based 10th Court of Appeals ordered a new trial for Sam Ukwuachu. It said prosecutors improperly used phone records in cross-examination interviews that hadn't been submitted into evidence. Prosecutors say they will appeal.

WACO, Texas (AP) — National champion Baylor will have a top SEC guard as a graduate transfer for the second year in a row with the addition of Te'a Cooper from South Carolina. Lady Bears coach Kim Mulkey intends for Cooper to switch to point guard. That is what Chloe Jackson did last season for Baylor after leaving LSU and becoming the most outstanding player of the women's NCAA Final Four. Jackson was the first grad transfer to play for Baylor.

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Oklahoma is the favorite to win another Big 12 football title, according to the conference's preseason media poll. The Sooners have won the league the last four years and 12 Big 12 championships overall. Texas was picked second by media covering the league. The top two teams meet in the conference championship game on Dec. 7. The Longhorns lost to the Sooners in the title matchup in 2018. The preseason rankings had Iowa State, TCU and Oklahoma State rounding out the top five.
