SPANISH FORK — Police released the name of the woman who died Monday night after the Porsche she was a passenger in got rear-ended by a Pathfinder at the intersection of U.S. Highway 6 and Spanish Fork Parkway.
Angela Marie Palmer, 54, of Mapleton, died of injuries she received in the car crash, according to police. The driver of the Porsche, 56-year-old Jeffery Palmer, of Mapleton, is currently in the intensive care unit at a local hospital, police said.
The fatal wreck occurred about 7:40 p.m. Monday after police say a man in his 60s experienced a medical episode and drove his Nissan Pathfinder into the rear of the Porsche, stopped in the left-hand turn lane, which then caused the Porsche to hit the rear of a motorcycle in front of it, also stopped.
The two people on the motorcycle, a man and woman, were thrown from the bike, according to police. They were transported to the hospital via ambulance after the crash, police said.
The Pathfinder then continued eastbound on U.S. 6 and crashed into another car, leaving the driver uninjured.
Officials didn’t know the updated conditions of the two people on the motorcycle or the driver of the Pathfinder.
