STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Peyton Plumlee pitched 6 2/3 strong innings, Dustin Skelton had a three-run triple and Mississippi State advanced to the College World Series for a second straight season after beating Stanford 8-1 on Sunday night in the NCAA's super regionals. Mississippi State broke the game open with four runs in the third inning and Elijah MacNamee left little doubt about the outcome with a three-run homer in the ninth.
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Drew Mendoza's two-out, run-scoring hit in the bottom of the 12th inning lifted Florida State to a 5-4 victory over LSU that sent the Seminoles to the College World Series. Reliever Antonio Velez pitched 4 2/3 shutout innings in relief to pick up his second win of the best-of-three Baton Rouge super regional after his inning of relief earned him the Game 1 win a day earlier.
UNDATED (AP) — Florida State coach Mike Martin will get one more shot at winning his first national championship before he retires. The Seminoles continued their improbable postseason surge with a 5-4 win over LSU in 12 innings to complete a two-game super regional sweep. Michigan returning to CWS for first time since 1984. Vanderbilt, Texas Tech and Mississippi State also win super regionals to advance. Louisville earned a CWS spot Saturday.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Austin Martin drove in three hitting two of Vanderbilt's five home runs, and the Commodores advanced to their fourth College World Series and first since 2015 by routing Duke 13-2 to clinch the Nashville Super Regional. Vanderbilt won the 2014 national title and was the runner-up in 2015. The nation's No. 2 overall seed also matched the program record for most wins in a season with a nation's best 54. The Commodores will play Louisville to open the College World Series.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Tyler Keenan homered and drove in four runs and Ole Miss tied its super regional series against Arkansas with a 13-5 win. Ole Miss (41-26) scored eight runs in the first and second innings to erase an early 2-0 deficit and force a third game on Monday with the winner advancing to the College World Series in Omaha.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Austin Bergner and Austin Love combined to pitch a six-hit shutout and Ike Freeman hit a two-run single in the first inning as North Carolina defeated Auburn 2-0 to force a deciding Game 3. After giving up nine runs in the final two innings of Game 1 on Friday, the Tar Heels (46-18) saw their pitching bounce back as they staved off elimination. Bergner struck out Rankin Woley to escape a bases-loaded jam in the first inning, and Love (6-4) held Auburn to two hits in 4 ? innings.
