ANTELOPE ISLAND — A man was flown to a hospital after he was trampled by a bison on Antelope Island Saturday afternoon.

The 30-year-old man was trail running on the Frary Peak Trail when the incident occurred, according to Utah State Parks Lt. Eric Stucki. Officials believe he may have startled the bison.

The man was taken by medical helicopter to University Hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening, Stucki said.

Further information about the incident was not immediately available.
