ZION NATIONAL PARK — A body found Thursday in Zion National Park was identified as a missing hiker, park officials said.
Crews spent Thursday searching for Pradeep Beryl Solomon, a missing 35-year-old man from Salt Lake City, according to Aly Baltrus with the National Park Service. Soloman had told his friends he was planning to visit Zion National Park and was going to hike Angels Landing on Tuesday.
Solomon's roommate reported him missing on Wednesday afternoon when he didn't come home from the trip, Baltrus said. At that point, rangers began the search and located his car in the parking lot. A search was conducted at the base of Angels Landing, where they found his body below the north side of the hiking route, Baltrus said in a statement.
According to a preliminary investigation, Solomon's injuries were associated with a high elevation fall, likely falling from Angels Landing Trail while he was hiking, according to Baltrus.
Baltrus said the Washington County Sherriff’s Office is the primary investigating agency.
