STANSBURY PARK — A 3-year-old toddler was airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital after he fell about 14 feet out of a window onto a concrete driveway Friday morning, authorities said.
Emergency crews learned of the incident when a Utah Highway Patrol pulled someone over for speeding about 10:30 a.m. The trooper learned it was the mother of the boy and a neighbor trying to rush the boy to a hospital, according to Tooele County Sheriff’s Lt. Eli Wayman.
The trooper then assisted in getting the boy to a hospital, where he was immediately flown to Primary Children’s Hospital, Wayman added.
Wayman said the fall happened at a residence located at 473 Wheatridge Road. The boy was looking out an upstairs window of the residence when he leaned on the window screen, causing it to pop out and for him to fall, he added.
“We believe he was looking at a dog, leaned out the screen a little too hard, the screen popped out and he fell onto the concrete driveway below,” Wayman said.
The boy’s condition wasn’t known Friday afternoon.
