PARK CITY — Two men wanted in connection with a Park City bank robbery Friday morning are also wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Wyoming and may also be linked to a homicide in Colorado from earlier in the day, authorities said.
The two men entered the Kimball Junction Wells Fargo, located at 6480 N. state Route 224, shortly after 10 a.m. One of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money, Summit County Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Wright said.
The men left with an undisclosed amount of money and drove off in a black 2015 Cadillac CTS with Colorado license plate “208QON,” according to Wright. Authorities said the vehicle was reported stolen out of Colorado.
The vehicle belonged to a person who was shot during a possible carjacking in Denver about 1:50 a.m. Friday, Denver police said in a statement. The individual who was shot was taken to a hospital and later died from their injuries.
"(The vehicle) was taken by an unknown party after the shooting," police wrote in the statement.
Officials believe the two traveled with a female passenger in the vehicle, but her involvement in the Park City robbery wasn’t known as of Friday afternoon, Wright said.
Authorities say the two men were also involved in an armed robbery at a convenience store in Cheyenne, Wyoming, about 4 a.m. Friday. In a statement, Cheyenne police said the two men and a woman entered the store and one of the men fired two rounds from a handgun before stealing items and cash from the store.
It is believed the three had come to Wyoming after they traveled north on I-25 following the homicide, Cheyenne police added.
Interstate 80 runs by both Park City and Cheyenne, and Cheyenne police sent out an alert to other agencies after the alleged robbery there and before the robbery in Park City, Wright said.
"Our investigators have been working with their investigators, and that's how we've been able to link these two incidents together," he said. "We've been asked about another case that possibly took place in Colorado. We have not linked those two together at this time."
Surveillance video photos provided by the sheriff’s office show one of the men had long hair, glasses and a beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt with multiple Champion logos on it. Cheyenne police added he was wearing blue jeans and blue basketball shoes.
The other man was wearing a black hooded jacket or sweatshirt and a red beanie with a pompom on top, as well as red shoes and black skinny jeans. He also had a goatee.
The woman was wearing a light-colored jacket and dark pants.
The men are believed to be in their 20s or possibly early 30s and are believed to be between 5-foot-8 and 6-feet tall, according to Wright. He didn't have an estimate for the woman's age.
It wasn't known which direction the three went after the Park City robbery, but Wright said it's possible the vehicle continued on I-80. The FBI is assisting in the investigation.
Authorities believe the men are armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees the two men is urged to call 911.
