SOUTH OGDEN — A 67-year-old Washington Terrace woman is in critical condition after she was hit by a car Friday morning while in a crosswalk, police said.

The woman was in a motorized wheelchair crossing Washington Boulevard at the 40th Street intersection about 11 a.m., South Ogden Police Sgt. Trent Olsen said.

A pickup truck that was traveling east on 40th Street turned right onto Washington Boulevard and hit the woman, who was heading north in the crosswalk, Olsen said. The woman, who was not identified, was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the truck, a 37-year-old South Ogden man, remained at the scene of the accident and was cooperating with police, Olsen said.

The crash is still under investigation. Olsen said he did not believe impairment was a factor in the crash.
