RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Fourth-ranked Virginia begins pursuit of a second straight Atlantic Coast Conference championship by meeting No. 9 Florida State to headline the week's AP Top 25 schedule. The schedule includes three matchups of ranked teams in the Big Ten, while top-ranked Duke returns to action after nearly two weeks off in ACC play.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Taylor Cornelius tied a Liberty Bowl record with four touchdown passes and Kolby Peel made a critical fourth-down stop with 1:01 left as Oklahoma State edged No. 24 Missouri 38-33. Missouri faced fourth-and-1 when Peel stopped quarterback Drew Lock on fourth-and-1.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Texas has had a quick rise under second-year coach Tom Herman and gets a chance to re-establish itself as a national power with a win against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Georgia just missed a shot at the College Football Playoff after a narrow loss to Alabama in the SEC championship game. The Bulldogs can still finish with a 12-win season with a victory Tuesday.

UNDATED (AP) — No. 14 Texas tries to cap an impressive season when it faces No. 6 Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. The Longhorns have taken a major step forward under second-year coach Tom Herman and a win over the Bulldogs Tuesday would provide more proof that Texas is pushing to get back into the nation's elite. Georgia just missed on a shot at the College Football Playoff after losing to Alabama in the SEC championship game.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Duke remains atop an AP Top 25 poll with few major changes after a light Christmas week schedule of games. The Blue Devils earned 35 of 64 first-place votes to stay at No. 1 for the second straight week and fourth week this season. The top 12 remained in unchanged Monday in the latest poll. Kentucky rose three spots to No. 13. No. 22 Wisconsin fell seven spots after losing to Western Kentucky.

NEW YORK (AP) — UConn, Notre Dame and Louisville remain the top three teams in The Associated Press women's basketball poll. Most teams are taking a break for the holidays meaning not much movement in the AP Top 25 released Monday.

WACO, Texas (AP) — Lauren Cox scored 17 points to lead seven players in double figures for No. 8 Baylor in a 98-37 win over Texas-Rio Grande Valley. The Lady Bears played their first game in nearly two weeks, and it was their last tuneup before facing top-ranked Connecticut at home on Thursday.
