PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — The Rose Bowl will mark the final collegiate start for Washington's Jake Browning. Whether or not it will be for Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins remains a mystery. Haskins' future has been as much a topic of conversation as Urban Meyer's final game as the Buckeyes' coach. The redshirt sophomore finished third in Heisman Trophy voting after leading the nation with 4,580 passing yards and 47 touchdowns while directing the Buckeyes to a Big Ten title.
NEW YORK (AP) — Muffet McGraw earned a milestone win against the school where she got her coaching start. McGraw became the fourth-fastest coach to reach 900 victories on Sunday when No. 2 Notre Dame beat Lehigh 95-68.
EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Even without Bryce Love, Stanford plans to stick with the running game in the Sun Bowl against Pittsburgh. Because the Panthers are powered by the first pair of 1,000-yard rushers in school history, coach Pat Narduzzi figures Monday's meeting will be something of an oddity in today's college game. Love is the second lead Stanford back in three years to skip the Sun Bowl to focus on the NFL draft. Christian McCaffrey sat out the Cardinal's 25-23 win over North Carolina in 2016.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Oregon coach Mario Cristobal got a big win in bowl season even before the Ducks took the field when star quarterback Justin Herbert announced he's returning for his senior year. With all 11 starters expected to be back next season, the Ducks will get a big head start on 2019 when they close this season in the Redbox Bowl against Michigan State in Santa Clara, California.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bennie Boatwright scored 19 points and Derryck Thornton added 16 and Southern California pulled away late to defeat a pesky UC Davis squad 73-55. Elijah Weaver chipped in 14 points as USC (7-6) shot 64 percent in the second half to finish its nonconference schedule with its second straight victory after losing four in a row. TJ Shorts II scored 14 points and Silas Schneider added 13 to lead UC Davis (3-10), which fell to 0-7 on the road this season.
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Aari McDonald scored 24 points and Arizona never trailed in a 51-39 win over No. 17 Arizona State in the Pac-12 opener for both teams. Sam Thomas added 11 points for the Wildcats (11-1), who won their 10th in a row. Arizona had its first double-digit lead at 36-25 with 3:28 left in the third quarter and led by at least seven throughout the fourth quarter. Kianna Ibis had 11 points to lead the Sun Devils (9-3), who had a seven-game winning streak snapped.
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Katie Benzan scored 19 points and Sydney Skinner made four free throws in the last 19.5 seconds as Harvard outscored No. 14 California 8-1 in the final 45 seconds to pull out an 85-79 win. There were 12 ties and 12 lead changes but the Crimson led most of the way.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michaela Onyenwere and Lajahna Drummer had double-doubles and UCLA overcame a 13-point deficit late in the second quarter to open Pac-12 Conference play with a 72-65 win over crosstown rival USC. Onyenwere had 27 points and 12 rebounds while Drummer had 10 points and 14 boards.
