DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Neftali Alvarez scored 23 points and Fairfield defeated New Hampshire 63-57 on Saturday.
Jesus Cruz added 10 points for the Stags (3-9) and Jonathan Kasibabu had a game-high nine rebounds. Alvarez had Fairfield's only two assists.
David Watkins had 16 points and seven rebounds for New Hampshire (2-10), which has lost 10 consecutive games. Nick Guadarrama added 11 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats.
After UNH built its largest lead, 20-13 with 8:33 remaining in the first half, Fairfield flipped the score with a 24-6 run and 37-26 lead with 16 minutes left in the game.
Neither team shot well. Fairfield shot 41 percent from the field and made 4 of 18 3-pointers while New Hampshire shot 42 percent, making 8 of 26 from distance.
Fairfield has won 10 of 12 games in the series.
