HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Rockets have set an NBA record for most 3-pointers in a game. They were one away from setting the mark until Michael Carter-Williams made the 26th with 31.1 seconds remaining in last night's 136-118 win over Washington. James Harden nailed six 3-pointers, Chris Paul had five 3's and Gerald Green and Eric Gordon made four apiece.
MIAMI (AP) — Miami Heat guard Goran Dragic (GOHR'-uhn DRAH'-gich) is expected to be out until around the NBA All-Star break after undergoing surgery to clean out his right knee. Dragic has already missed 15 of Miami's last 22 games, most of them because of right knee soreness. Dragic has averaged 15.3 points and a team-high 4.9 assists for the Heat this season.
CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine (luh-VEEN') will miss two to four weeks with a sprained left ankle. He was injured late in the Bulls' 97-91 loss to the Orlando Magic a week ago in Mexico City. He had an MRI in San Antonio on Saturday and was re-evaluated earlier this week when the team returned to Chicago. LaVine leads the team with 23.8 points and 4.8 assists per game and is averaging 4.9 rebounds.
SAALBACH-HINTERGLEMM, Austria (AP) — Marcel Hirscher won a World Cup slalom today for his 63rd career victory, making him the most successful Austrian skier of all time. The seven-time overall champion overtook Annemarie Moser-Proell, who had 62 wins when she retired in 1980. Only Ingemar Stenmark and Lindsey Vonn have won more World Cup races. Stenmark won 86 and Vonn 82.
BERN, Switzerland (AP) — Olympic champion skier Michelle Gisin will skip World Cup races this week to be near her brother, who is in a Swiss hospital after crashing in a downhill on Saturday. Gisin, who is fourth in the overall standings, says she will miss giant slalom and slalom races starting tomorrow in France. Marc Gisin broke ribs and sustained pelvic and back injuries in a dramatic fall at Val Gardena, Italy.
