HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Jordan Heading scored 24 points and Milan Acquaah scored 22 and California Baptist controlled most of the way in a 73-52 win against Southeastern Louisiana on Monday night.
Acquaah's 3-pointer with 15:51 before intermission put the Lancers (6-5) ahead 7-5 and they never trailed again. Acquaah made a layup and a 3 and Cal Baptist led 19-8 en route to a 25-18 halftime lead. De'jon Davis' jumper with 14:04 remaining made it 40-29 and the Lancers were up by double digits the rest of the way. Cal Baptist shot 25 of 46 (54.3 percent)
Acquaah, a transfer from Washington State, came in averaging 21.2 points per game. He currently leads the Western Athletic Conference in scoring and was tied for 33rd nationally in points per game. Davis finished with 11 rebounds and Mike Henn grabbed nine boards for the Lancers.
Marlain Veal led Southeastern Louisiana (4-6) with 19 points and Moses Greenwood scored 11. The Lions shot 19 of 51 (37.3) from the field.
