NEW YORK (AP) — Northern Illinois senior guard Mikayla Voight had a game to remember against Western Illinois. She set two school records when she had a career-best 52 points in the 86-61 win on Dec. 8, making 19 of 25 shots _ including 11 3-pointers.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — Sophia Elenga scored 12 points, three players scored 10 each and No. 17 Arizona State defeated Kansas State 65-51 Sunday in the Battle by the Bluff on the Wisconsin-La Crosse campus. Reili Richardson, Robbi Ryan and Kianna Ibis each scored 10 for the Sun Devils (8-2), who pushed their win streak to six. Kayla Goth scored 19 and Peyton Williams picked up her fifth double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 rebounds for Kansas State, which saw its four-game win streak come to an end.
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Kristine Anigwe had 18 points and 16 rebounds and No. 13 California stayed undefeated with a 69-45 win over UC Santa Barbara. Anigwe had 11 of her rebounds on the offensive glass for the Golden Bears (9-0), who had a 44-34 edge in overall rebounding and outscored the Gauchos 38-16 in the paint.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Gonzaga coach Mark Few is hoping a tough nonconference schedule has the Bulldogs ready for the rest of the season. The fourth-ranked Bulldogs have lost two straight games after a loss at No. 12 North Carolina. They also lost to No. 3 Tennessee. Earlier this season, they beat highly ranked Duke to win the Maui Invitational. The week's AP Top 25 schedule also included top-ranked Kansas' win against No. 17 Villanova in a matchup of a Final Four game last season.
