NEW YORK (AP) — Northern Illinois senior guard Mikayla Voight had a game to remember against Western Illinois. She set two school records when she had a career-best 52 points in the 86-61 win on Dec. 8, making 19 of 25 shots _ including 11 3-pointers.
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Nick Ward scored 22 of his 28 points in a nearly perfect first half to help No. 9 Michigan State rout Green Bay 104-83. Ward made all nine of his field goal attempts in the first half, although he did miss a free throw. The Spartans made their last seven shots of the half to take a 64-35 lead.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Nebraska got 29 points from James Palmer Jr. and the Huskers pulled away in the second half to defeat Oklahoma State 79-56 at the Sanford Pentagon. Palmer came in averaging 18.7 points per game but blew by that number early in the second half.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Mikiah Herbert Harrigan scored 19 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds and No. 25 South Carolina beat Purdue 82-73 in double overtime. Herbert Harrigan started a 7-0 spurt that gave the Gamecocks a 76-69 lead in the second overtime on their way to the win.
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Megan Gustafson scored 28 points with 12 rebounds for her 64th career double-double and ninth this season to lead No. 16 Iowa to an 83-57 win over Northern Iowa. Gustafson was 11-of-14 shooting.
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Sidney Cooks scored a career-high 19 points and No. 23 Michigan State used a 9-0 run in overtime to pull away from Hartford for a 74-66 win. Victoria Gaines added 16 points with 11 rebounds and Taryn McCutcheon had 14 points for the Spartans (9-1), who won their sixth straight.
