UNDATED (AP) — A person with knowledge of the situation says Temple coach Geoff Collins has met with Georgia Tech officials about the Yellow Jackets' vacant head coaching job. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because Georgia Tech was not releasing information about its search to replace Paul Johnson, who is stepping down after 11 seasons as coach of the Yellow Jackets.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Isaiah Mucius scored 16 points and Wake Forest beat Charlotte 80-56. Olivier Sarr added a career-high 14 points, Chaundee Brown also had 14, Brandon Childress scored 13 and Jaylen Hoard finished with 12 for the Demon Deacons. They shot 44 percent and built a 43-31 rebounding advantage to snap out of a slump of two dispiriting losses to mid-major teams in three games.

ATLANTA (AP) — Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa topped Oklahoma's Kyler Murray in college football player of the year awards on Thursday, 2-1. Tagovailoa won the Walter Camp and Maxwell awards and Murray was named AP Player of the Year. Murray also won the Davey O'Brien as top quarterback.

ATLANTA (AP) — AP player of the year Kyler Murray adds the Davey O'Brien Award as the nation's top quarterback as the College Football Awards show in Atlanta began. But right before the show started it was announced that Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa won the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.
