SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Salt Lake City Fire Department says a fire early Wednesday morning caused extensive damage to an apartment complex and displaced 40 people.
The department says two injured people were treated at the scene before being transported to a hospital for further evaluation. Additional information on their injuries is not immediately available.
According to the department, the Red Cross is helping the displaced people find shelter and cause of the fire is under investigation.
The department says the fire started on the third floor before spreading into the roof and throughout into other apartment units, affecting a total of 24 apartments.
Some 60 firefighters responded to the three-alarm blaze.
