INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — USA Track and Field has selected Eugene, Oregon, as the new site of the 2020 U.S. Olympic trials.

The organization originally awarded the trials for the Tokyo Games to Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, but the bid was reopened following uncertainty over the Los Angeles-area stadium.

Hayward Field at the University of Oregon has been the setting for many big track and field events, including several previous Olympic trials, the 2014 IAAF world junior championships, NCAA outdoor championships and the Prefontaine Classic. The venue is undergoing renovations which are scheduled to be completed by the spring of 2020. It will also host the 2021 world championships.

The U.S. track trials are scheduled for June 19-28, 2020. The marathon trials will be held on Feb. 29, 2020, in Atlanta.
