THE TWITTERVERSE — I love movies. They transport me to far off lands, help me experience all kinds of emotions and have even given me the ability to visit space and travel through time.
Something funny about movies, however, is often times when you break down the plot, these movies seem insane.
I try to imagine being in a pitch meeting hearing this: “A teenager is friends with an old doctor and goes to the 50s when that doctor is shot by Libyans. He finds his friend in the past and his own mother ends up falling for him.”
“No, I’m not making that movie.”
That would have been my response, but I’m glad I wasn’t making the decisions because if I had been “Back to the Future” would never have been made.
On Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences asked Twitter users to break down movies on their own with this tweet: “Explain the plot of your favorite movie in five words.”
People from all over the world have joined in, including filmmaker Edgar Wright.
I’ve taken the liberty to find some of my favorites and wanted to give you a chance to see if you can guess the right answer in a quiz.
In the quiz, you'll see a 5-word phrase that describes the plot of a movie. Type your answer below the question. After you've completed all seven questions, click "Submit" at the bottom of the form to see your score.
Good luck! If you can't see the quiz below, click here to take the quiz.
