LINDON — A man who police say stabbed a woman he lived with before fleeing was arrested after a manhunt Thursday.
Adrian Johnson, 41, was arrested after a short foot pursuit after Lindon residents and Orem police spotted him about 1:45 p.m., according to Lindon Police Chief Josh Adams.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a home located at 622 N. 200 East about 4 a.m., Adams said.
“There they discovered an adult female who had been stabbed multiple times,” Adams said.
The woman, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. She has since been released from the hospital.
Police quickly identified the man suspected in the stabbing as Johnson. He was spotted in the area of the stabbing later Thursday morning, but fled on foot.
“A female living in the vicinity went to her garage and found Johnson inside her vehicle. Johnson attempted to take her car keys but was unsuccessful,” Adams said.
Multiple police agencies, including Orem and Pleasant Grove, assisted in the search for the man.
Reverse 911 calls were issued in surrounding areas, including Pleasant Grove. A message urged residents to lock their doors because of “a suspect at large in the area.” However, Pleasant Grove police lifted a shelter in place about 1 p.m. that had been recommended for the area.
