1. Police say man impersonated officer, threatened to kill two men he accused of living in U.S. illegally

Police arrested Jerred Martin Loftus, 41, Sunday for impersonating an officer and threatening to kill two men he accused of living in the country illegally, according to a probable cause statement.

2. Lehi officials consider demolishing century-old bridge where teen died

City officials in Lehi are considering how to make a century-old bridge safer after a teenager died jumping from it July 7 — once they find out who owns it.

3. Police: Knife-wielding man shot by officer after ramming police vehicle, barricading himself in WVC home

A police officer shot a man after the man rammed his car into another officer’s vehicle before barricading himself inside a family member’s home on Sunday morning.

This was second time the man has been involved in an officer-involved shooting in West Valley City, according to police.

4. 'It’s just a miracle:' Cabin still standing amid Dollar Ridge Fire

Deborah and Mark Andrus returned to what is left of their property Saturday after the Dollar Ridge Fire burned through parts of Duchesne County last week. As of Sunday, the wildfire had burned 56,734 acres and was 65 percent contained, according to fire officials.

5. March for Our Lives activists aim for safer schools, changing gun laws

Exactly five months after a mass shooting in a high school in Parkland, Florida, left 17 dead, student survivors and activists held a town hall in Utah Saturday addressing school safety and gun laws.
