OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A lawsuit over car crash in Ogden that killed a Layton man and his young daughter nearly three years ago has been settled out of court.
The Standard-Examiner reports the suit involved an Interstate 15 chain-reaction crash.
Authorities say 30-year-old Ryan Chambers and 4-year-old Evelynn Chambers died in the August 2015 accident while two other family members survived.
Relatives of the victims filed a wrongful death suit in 2016 seeking damages from two other drivers involved in the crash and the employer of one of the drivers.
A Utah Highway Patrol investigation determined one of the drivers made no attempt to stop before crashing into the Chambers' car, which was stopped behind a semi-truck.
Authorities say the impact pushed the Chambers' car into the back of the semi.
